OVERVIEW

THE MIXMASTER APP BY SONICAL.LY BEGAN WITH A VISION OF INTEGRATING CREATIVE FREEDOM INTO MUSIC EDUCATION. IT IS PRIMARILY A GAMING APP THAT HAS THE ADDED BENEFIT OF EDUCATING USERS IN THE ART OF MUSIC PRODUCTION.





THROUGH ITS UNIQUE COMBINATION OF GAMING AND EDUCATION, IT PROVIDES ALL LEVELS OF MUSIC PRACTITIONERS WITH A MEANS TO CREATE MUSIC, WHILE HELPING THEM PROGRESS IN THEIR LEARNING. THE GOAL OF THIS PROJECT IS TO FIND WAYS TO ENHANCE THE STORE EXPERIENCE THROUGHOUT THE APP AS WELL AS TO DESIGN DIGITAL ASSETS THAT WILL CONTINUOUSLY DRAW USERS TO THE GAME AND RETAIN THEIR INTEREST.

MULTIPLE LAYERS OF PROTOTYPING WAS DONE THROUGHOUT THE APP BUILD. WE CONDUCTED A USABILITY TEST WITH A SAMPLE GROUP AT THE VERY START OF THE PROJECT AND ANOTHER ONE AT THE VERY END, WITH THE SAME GROUP. WE WANTED THE ABILITY TO MEASURE DIFFERENCES AND  BE ABLE TO DO A SORT OF A/B TESTING OF THE BEFORE AND AFTER.
