THIS PHONE CHARGING STATION IS A MODULAR PRODUCT THAT ALLOWS FLEXIBILITY FOR ITS USER.


IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND THE DESIGN CHALLENGE, A IN SITU STUDY WAS MADE ON A POOL OF PARTICIPANTS TO SEE WHAT WAS THE END-TO-END JOURNEY WHEN COMING HOME AND NEEDING TO CHARGE YOUR DEVICES.


RESULT IS FLEXIBILITY.










WHEN PLUGGED, THE PRODUCT ACTS AS A LAMP AND A WIRELESS CHANGER. THE TRAY BECOMES A PORTABLE CHARGING STATION, EQUIPPED WITH ITS OWN BATTERY. THIS ALLOWS THE TRAY TO LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE HOME AND CAN ALSO ACT AS PURE DECORATION. THE DETACHABLE LED HALO CAN ALSO ACT AS A FLASHLIGHT.


THE APPLICATION BUILDS AND EXPANDS THE MODULARITY OF THE OBJECT. IT CONTROLS LIGHT TEMPERATURE AND INTENSITY, BUT ALSO COMMUNICATES STATUSES OF BATTERIES (TRAY BATTERY, HALO LIGHT BATTERY, PHONE CHARGING STATUS, ETC) WHILE KEEPING THE OVERALL DESIGN LANGUAGE GRAPHICALLY.
